Demographic Instructions

Demographics are a way that you can display results based on a question you ask your attendees to fill out when they first log into your session.  Currently this is only available in Tally and Quiz Show but will be integrated into other session as well. In addition, we are adding more options on ways to use demographics.

On the left, there are checkboxes for 'Participant Requirements' including 'Name' selected, 'Email', and additional text fields. There is also a 'Demographics' section with a button to add new fields.

Under options in your session. Look for Reports and Data Collection. The default question will be attendee’s name which is a fill in the blank. To add a demographic, click on Add new Field

  1. Enter your Field question. This could simply be Division or an actual question.

  2. Enter your option (answers).

  3. By default, you are presented with 4. You can add more or less by changing the number of options.

  4. To delete a field, look for the garbage can to the right of the Enter Field. This will show up when you are in the field.

  5. You can preview how this will look for the attendees to the right.

You can also add more than one field if you choose.

In this example below, we want our attended to choose the Division or region they are in. You can have up to 30 options for them to choose from.

A scoreboard displaying scores for four regions with a heading 'Region' and a leaderboard with three categories. South has 100 points, North 85, East 70, and West 63.

In all play mode, you will have the option to display results by the default Leaderboard (individual results) or by a Demographic(s) you created.  In the above screenshot, Region was selected and will be displayed unless you change it. You can easily toggle between different demographics by clicking on title at the top.

Want more Teams than the session allows?
If you have for example, 17 different divisions/departments or however you want to group attendees, using the Demographics will allow you to display scores based on a demographic.

In All Play mode, when the session is complete you will have three options to view results. By the participants, by the Demographics, or a breakdown by questions.

When Played in Team Mode
You can toggle between the Teams (default) and the Leaderboard and a Demographic(s) by clicking the T (Teams) or L (Leaderboard) tab to the left.

In Team Mode when a session is completed, you will have 4 options to view results after. Teams, Individuals, Demographics, and by Questions. Under Demographics you will be able to choose what Demographic question you want view.
